Christmas 2011

Our Christmas was so great this year. It was so much fun to see the excitement and joy on the kids faces.  We were blessed to be able to spend it with both sides of our families and we were spoiled rotten. The snow we got on Christmas Eve made everything even more special. It was beautiful! And to top everything off, I got an awesome new camera! So... hopefully I will be posting a lot less iphone pics!

Mimi & Papa got them both a kitchen

Adalyn loved it so much she got in it!

Christmas morning
Santa came!

He brought Jaxon 2 train sets & a pirate tent!

He loved it.

Jaxon seeing if Santa ate his cookies.

Good morning Adalyn!

Happy girl

Daddy showing her what Santa brought.

Adalyn loved her laugh & learn house and princess tent.

So much fun.

And later that morning... we packed up and left for Nana's house in Roswell.

Jaxon's a happy camper as long as he has his movies.

And Adalyn did great.

She had her brother to entertain her.

It was a scary, slippery drive but we made it.
 Talk about a white Christmas!

Daddy was happy we made it to Nana's.

Checking out the toys with cousin Iain.

Toys, toys & more toys!

Adalyn's crazy hair!

The kids were big fans of staying in a hotel and really enjoyed having breakfast in bed!

Elf on the Shelf

Our elf "Jake" is always hiding in the funniest places! He even made us a  North Pole breakfast one morning complete with doughnut holes, strawberry yummies & a new elf that they could play with.

Winter Days

We had so much fun on snow day!  It was beautiful and the kids loved playing in it.  It was Adalyn's first time and she was a huge fan.

Looking out the window

Daddy and Jaxon made a snow man while Momma and Adalyn watched from the window. It was way too cold for us.

Warming up by the fire

Christmas Fun

I love our Santa picture this year. I know I'm a cruel mom for watching my daughter scream out of fear... but a moms gotta do what a moms gotta do for a santa picture!

Mrs. Claus wasn't near as frightening. Ha ha

Riding the train to the North Pole

Mimi and Adalyn look worried.  The train driver was pretty crazy!

We also went to the lovely "Odessa Christmas Parade".  We had a good time as usual.  Unfortunately, these were the only pictures I took.

Jaxon and his best bud April from school.

My sweet girl waiting on the parade.

Polar Express

We had such a great time at the Polar Express in Lubbock. Jaxon's love for trains is undeniable so going on a real train for the first time was a blast.  Mimi and Papa came along too which made the experience even more fun.  I have to say that it was totally worth the ticket price when we saw the kids faces as santa and his elves came on board.  Santa was so sweet and he came right up to Jaxon and spoke to him in such a sweet way. He got down on his knee on Jaxon's level and whispered to him, "Do you believe?" and handed him a bell. If you haven't read the book or seen the movie, if you believe in Santa, you can hear the bell ring.  I couldn't help but get tears in my eyes.  It was beyond sweet. I absolutely love watching Jaxon learn about the magic and joy of Christmas.  Adalyn had a great time too and didn't scream when Santa spoke to her, so we considered that a success!

So glad that Mimi and Papa were there.

Such a sweet daddy/daughter picture

Watching the show
